1. Develop With Purpose

Move each piece to active squares and avoid moving the same piece repeatedly in the opening.

2. King Safety First

Castle early and keep pawns around your king intact unless there is a concrete tactical reason.

3. Improve Worst Piece

Before searching tactics, identify your least active piece and find a better square for it.

4. Calculate Forcing Moves

Check checks, captures, and threats first. This trims the candidate move list quickly.

5. Convert Advantages Safely

When ahead, trade pieces not pawns, reduce counterplay, and avoid unnecessary complications.
